Safeguarding the lives of companion animals in our community is what we do.
Our Pet Retention Initiative provides a consistent community presence that builds relationships with people where they are. Outreach Teams visit targeted communities twice per month to distribute dog food and supplies. During our visit, we might perform nail trims, schedule veterinary services, or identify other needs for follow-up. And we pet puppies...
We do not have a facility. That means all our dogs live in homes where they can learn the skills necessary to become successful family members.
Fosters provide care for a dog until he or she is ready for adoption. There is a minimum two-week foster stay to get to know the dog, allow it to decompress, and to avoid transmission of illnesses.
Our 48-foot cargo trailer stands ready to evacuate dogs from disaster areas and to assist with hoarding situations. The trailer has a generator for climate control and lights, as well as tracks for safely securing crates during transport. Disaster Transport Volunteers are required to complete an online training course. We're happy to send you the link.
